Keirn Rush, CPYB
Keirn is Managing Broker for Harbor Yachts. Keirn learned to sail with a plywood sailfish in the 50's, and taught sailing on Snipes at camp in Michigan in the late 50's. He graduated from Indiana University in 1964 with a degree in Business and a minor in Sailing Club. In the 70's Keirn was a Aircraft Broker and a Realtor with the GRI designation. The 80's and early 90's were spent in the Computer industry which paid the way for his Catalina 30 and then Catalina 36 which he kept on Lake Michigan. Keirn and his wife Carolyn took four months to Sail "Apple Pie" their Catalina 36' down from Lake Michigan to Oriental in 1999. In 2000 Keirn began selling boats in Atlantic Beach and in 2002 opened Harbor Yachts in Oriental. Keirn is a member of the Yacht Brokers Association of America and he has earned the Certified Professional Yacht Broker Designation Certified Professional Yacht Broker, CPYB.
John Pilcher
John is our New Bern yacht broker. He has been fascinated by boats since he was a boy in Freehold, New Jersey. His grandfather, a captain of square rigged sailing ships and steamers, passed on his passion for boating. “I can’t remember a time when I didn’t own at least one boat, “he says. He’s had sail boats and power boats, and knows his way around both. A North Carolina resident for more than 20 years, he moved to the Carolina coast from Asheville and now lives in River Bend. There’s nothing John would rather do than talk about boats, unless it’s being aboard his restored classic Hatteras motor yacht. Before joining Harbor Yachts, John ran his own painting contracting business for 25 years, and owned a charter and school bus business. He is a certified Merchant Marine Captain, and a member of the New Bern Yacht Club, and the New Bern Boating and Fishing Club.
Warren Funk
Warren has always enjoyed being on the water. He grew up in Pennsylvania canoeing, kayaking, river rafting and learned to sail on Oday Widgeons and Sunfish at the New Jersey Shore.
Warren graduated from Lafayette College in 1980 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He spent 25 years in the Manufacturing industry with various positions in engineering and eventually as Director of Sales and Marketing. Living in Bucks County, PA he spent time sailing and fishing on Lake Nockamixon and on the Chesapeake Bay.
When searching for a warm climate that was close to the water, Warren and his wife Cameon discovered and fell in love with Oriental. They moved to Buccaneer Bay near Oriental and have both a Sailboat and a Powerboat docked behind their home. They plan to build on their lot located in the Cloisters Subdivision. Warren and Cam are members of the Sailing Club Of Oriental

Barbara Pilcher
Barbara manages our New Bern office. She grew up near Mystic, Connecticut, swimming and boating on Long Island Sound. She has worked in advertising in Boston, publishing in New York, owned a bakery in Tucson, a restaurant in Sante Fe, and taught cooking in San Francisco. She shares Johns love of boating, and helping clients find the “perfect boat”.
